Historic Bucharest, known as the “Paris of the Balkans” or Little Paris, boasts a rich history, elegant buildings, and captivating museums. The city’s historic center rivals those of central European metropolises, featuring Ceausescu’s megalomaniacal imprint on the world’s second-largest building. Amid the old town’s bustling cafes and elegant boulevards, Bucharest presents a blend of historical charm and modern development.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Departure - Bucharest

Meeting at 11.30 in the morning at “Macedonia” airport, check-in and direct flight to Bucharest. Arrival and we will immediately start our walk with a panoramic tour to get to know the city of Bucharest or the city of joy. We will visit the Patriarchate and arrive at our hotel. Settling in and we will walk through the old town, which was one of the oldest settlements in Bucharest. We will see traditional mansions, cobbled streets and be enchanted by the alleys that remind us of another era. You will have free time in restaurants, cafes and modern bars housed in 17th century buildings. In the evening we recommend a walk in the illuminated Bucharest.

Day 2 - City Tour - House of people - Temple of Salvation - Village museum

We have a good breakfast at the hotel and we will start touring the city called the Paris of the Balkans. Our first stop will be at one of Bucharest’s top attractions, the famous Parliament Building. The Palace of the Parliament or “House of the People” was ordered by Nicolae Ceausescu, the dictator of Romania and was built between 1984-1997. Its construction started from the crazy dream of Ceausescu and it became the largest building in Europe, 2nd largest in the world. Continuing we will see the Church of the Salvation of the Romanian People, which when completed will be the largest working Orthodox Church in the world and the Athenaeum, the most famous music hall of the country. We will visit the Village Museum, unique in its kind, with more than 300 wooden houses, windmills, churches and other structures in which we see architecture from all regions of the country. Each wooden structure comes from a different region of the country, representing life in the countryside. Among the buildings one can admire farmhouses, windmills and churches, while the signs on them inform you of their place of origin and construction. We will continue our tour of the city, admiring the palaces of the royal family, the Greek church reminiscent of the Parthenon, the Military Academy, the Arc de Triomphe which is inspired by that of Paris, the Firefighter’s museum, etc. Return to the hotel and free time to walk on your own through the avenues of the city and the alleys of the historic center.

Day 3 - Carpathian Mountains - Sinaia - Bran - Dracoula Tower - Brasov

After breakfast we depart for an optional day trip to the legendary Carpathians. After crossing the valley of the river Prahova we reach Sinaia, the “pearl of the Carpathians”, where we will visit the Peles Palace, summer residence of King Charles, the 1st King of Romania. Then on the way we will see the Monastery of Sinaia, the 1st building that was built, and from which the city got its name. We then depart for Bran, where we will visit the famous Bran Tower, known as “Dracula’s Tower”, which was built in the 14th century as a defensive fortress against Ottoman attacks. Continuing on our way, we will visit the historic but also uniquely beautiful city of Brasov with its famous Gothic Black Church. Return to Bucharest. In the evening, with the guidance of our guide, you can watch the service of the Resurrection in an Orthodox church.

Day 4 - Bucharest - Therme Bucharest Park

Easter and we are in the capital of Romania! Enjoy the cheerful atmosphere of the city and use your time as you wish. You can also visit the largest Thermal Spa in Europe, which ‘yes’ is here! We suggest you join us optionally in the tropical island-like Therme Bucharest Park wellness center. A true paradise just twenty minutes from downtown Bucharest. A 30,000 square meter wellness, relaxation and fun park based on thermal waters and featuring 8 indoor and outdoor thermal pools filled with thermal water, restaurants, Romania’s largest indoor and outdoor garden with over 800,000 plants and hundreds of tree species, including the largest area with real palm trees in Europe. The thermal water in the pools of the complex comes from a depth of 3,100 meters, while the temperature in the atmosphere of Therme Bucharest Park is constantly between 29 and 30 degrees Celsius. Time at our disposal to enjoy one of the wellness programs and don’t forget that our attendant is there to give you all the necessary information. Return to the hotel and free time to walk on your own through the avenues of the city and the alleys of the historic center.

Day 5 - Bucharest - National Gallery - Return

Last day today but since the flight is in the afternoon we have time for one last walk. Have a good breakfast and enjoy this day the way you want. You are in the center of Bucharest so you can visit the National Gallery or enjoy an atmospheric meal in the company of knights and princesses at the Excalibur restaurant where every dish has a knightly name!! Then transfer to the airport for our return.
